Matthew Dailey DDS, MD
Matthew Dailey DDS, MD is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in Santa Barbara, CA. As an undergraduate student at UC Santa Barbara, he was introduced to corrective jaw surgery by Drs. Arnett and Gunson. It was this exposure that inspired his passion for corrective jaw surgery.
Dr. Dailey completed dental school at UCLA and subsequently served in the U.S. Air Force as a general dentist for four years.
After his honorable discharge, he received his doctorate in medicine, completed his general surgery internship, and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
His enthusiasm for corrective jaw surgery and facial reconstruction led him to Charlotte, NC where he completed a 1-year fellowship specializing in orthognathic surgery, sleep apnea, temporomandibular joint surgery, facial trauma, facial cosmetic surgery and oral reconstruction via bone grafting, soft tissue grafting, and dental implants.
Dr. Dailey’s passion for facial esthetics, function, and occlusion led him back to the origin of his interest in corrective jaw surgery with Dr. Gunson. Dr. Dailey is devoted to high quality patient care through interdisciplinary communication, attention to detail, and a focus on the nuances specific to each patient’s case. He has hospital privileges at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital.
Dr. Dailey and his wife Jillian have three children. While he enjoys sharing his hobbies with them (running, swimming, biking, surfing, skiing), he spends most time following his kids’ innumerable and changing interests (soccer, swimming, hockey, baseball, crafting, school plays, rock climbing, piano, and just playing around).
